I think that neither of you have any answers. Unfortunatley it is often these kinds of narrow minded arguments that tend to promote nothing more than a populist and generic understanding of the 'evils ' of capitalism. In your rambling you talk of the explotation and ignorance of the average consumer to prefer to buy a big king burger instead of the altruistic home made burger, in which you reference would not be purchased....with the exception of the meat, bun, condiments etc.....why should I not have the right to decide to spend my money and save time from the preparation of this meal, if I would rather spend time with my family or friends. As well, not all reductions in price are made on the backs of the poor you use to promote your own perception of reality. What of these reductions based on improved process, worked by those who have the incentive as a reward, when willing to work hard as a team to reduce the inherent prices of goods to make them affordable to the like of you. I understand the rage at what most people perceive to be as they sit back and watch the capitalist rule the world. You are in fact right when you say that captialism is not bound by any notion of collective good, yet it does allow for the creation of good as well....
