"Pure capitalism" in any form depends upon reality fulfilling the role defined for it by any particular believer in "pure capitalism." Capitalism, in short, requires the State to take a particular political stance. (Author's note: this is NOT a flame opposing Mike Bednarz's version of "pure capitalism." It's only an observation that "pure capitalism," in Mike Bednarz's version of it or anyone's version of it, implies a particular role for the State, more likely than not the role specified by Keynesian economics, and doesn't just refer to the profit made off of labor.
Discussing the State's role in the economy honestly would at least remove the dishonesty exuding from common Republican "stances" on economics, which is not to say that Mike Bednarz is dishonest nor is it say that Mike has a Republican "stance.")
