: Throughout the history of biblical scholarship the geneologies stand as the least disputed aspect of the Bible. With only a trifling few arguments to the contrary, the geneology which opens the book of Matthew and follows the lineage of Abraham through Jesus Christ is accepted as the indisputed historical record.: I don't need God to be white, black, or any other color. But Christ was Hebrew unless one can disprove that geneology as it stands.
Why stop there, Mr. Gort? One of the other Apostles, I don't remember who, traces the genealogy of Jesus all the way back to Adam. What color do you think Adam & Eve were?
Anyway, Matthew does NOT trace the genealogy of Jesus. He traces the genealogy of Joseph. If Jesus was literally the son of God, then he has absolutely no blood connection with Joseph. So it seems that that one goes out the door. If you want to trace the genealogy of the Virgin Mary then that might be meaningful, but if Jesus was the son fo God then it don't matter what his stepfather Joseph's ancestry was. right?

McSpotlight: Look is this entire thread actually going anywhere? Is someone next going to ask the Christians how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
(sorry for the tone; I know this is the Anything Else room; but it seems like an unnecessarily voluble debate for something of little or no immediate consequence...)
