As most of you probably know from my postings, i'm an employee of McD's in canada, a Crew Trainer in fact. I've read many many postings on here about the Corporation and their standards. Most of the people who have complained seem to have good reason to because of a bad experince they had at a local restaurant, which is fine i guess but we all must grow up, haven't we been taught not to generalize, wheather its groups, people, and maybe even businesses. Not all McDonald's Restaurants are the same......AT the McD's i work for, personal hygine, safe working cinditions and customer satisfactation is very important to us..its is drilled to us since the time of hiring that we're dependent on our customer, their not dependent on us..and most of us take our jobs seriously, even if it is McD's....i don't plan to stay there, but at the moment i need it to get me through universitry, the mgmt is very outgoing concering my scheduling.
I know there are bad managers and poorly run stores out there, probably especially in those countries who do not have high standards for businesses to follow. Most of the managers at my McD's are really cool and help when needed-concering extra shifts, etc....We have many crew incentives, store parties, in store employee contests, treat days, movie nights, etc. We have a crew of approx 80 {not including mgmt} who for the most part get along with eachother....i've made many new friends working at McD's
What i'm trying to say is that McDonald's restaurants are different across the world..Good and Bad..i'm lucky to be in a good one...For those of you who complain about the working conditions, why not call the board of health or a gov't agency which deals with working conditions, maybe your country doesn't enforce its standards as much as they should.....I think its stupid and childish that people are "putting down" those who are happy with McD's, especially the adults and the IWW...If a region requests a union {by its employees} thats fine, but don't try to speak for the rest of us who don't wish to belong to a union, for they too are a business who wants your money. If they say their not a business, ask them how much of your pay they'll take, then wait and see to see what you get in return..not much....
For all of you who are happy to work for mcD's, thats great and keep up with your postings re-enforcing your experences to let others know that despite what others and mcSpotlight sat about the corporation, you're enjoying yourself and its not so bad working at McDs And no, i'm not being paid to say this if McDonald's was treating me wrong, i'd join the rest and be posting negitive messages bout the Corporation, but at the moment i don't have any complaints.
