I'm not a fan of beef myself, but people are free to pick their poison. My children are not allowed to eat beef from restraunts. To each his own. It is not right to dislike a fast food place just because it's main dish is cow flesh. I don't eat beef, but I really don't give a damn who does. That's their own buisness. By the way I was search for a McDonalds picture for a project at college till I ran into this disguisting we site.--
McSpotlight: Disgusting, eh? What do you find unpalatable - the facts that McD's really doesn't want you to know (e.g. the facts that, as a corporation, they are cruel to animals, exploit children and pay their workers badly?)...
As to "to each his own", the major usage of Amazonian ex-rainforest land is in growing soya, of which the majority of that is fed to beef cattle. If we steadily increase the level of beef consumption (as an increasing world population trying to eat a Western diet does) we reduce the amount of oxygen put back into the atmosphere by those rainforests. To use a graphical example, it's like cutting your own lung out and eating it - except that, as this is worldwide, you're forcing everyone else to do the same.
