Qx: : ...go ahead but it won't impress too many people.L: That would be the same people who consider Anarchism a doctrine of murderign criminals and madmen, Socialism as authoritarian, violent and terroristic if necessary, central management of every aspect of human life?
Qx: Not hardly. It would be the victims and relatives of the victims of the depredations of the Catholic Church. There's not much distortion in that. The Catholic Church is not Liberation Theology. LT may do a lot to bring concepts of radical justice (i.e., soical sin, etc..) to the fore but it certainly has a formidable opponent within the established and ruling elite of the Ctaholic Church.
L: I'd have thought any "Progressive" worth his salt would be challenging these misconceptions and prejudices not simply saying that's popular I can live with that.
Qx: Again as the title of the posting states "popularity is irrelevent". Keep in mind that I responded to Stu's posting in regards to Christian fundamentalism and Nikhil jumped to conclusions. Maybe he was thinking that I was referring to Catholicism. Not too good.
Besides "misconceptions" and "prejudices" you've confused this with popularity. Remember the Kosovo threads Lark? I feel this is a take on an old spiel and a hysterical one at that.
