You're determined to be stupid, Robert.

: Gideon, dear chap,

: You are excitedly wrong about God and His word. Sorry.

: Applying Aristotle-ing logic to an extra-dimensional God is futile. It proves nothing.

God is extra-dimensional? How do you know this?

You have no actual evidence to support that claim, Robert.

: God's Truths are paradoxical Truths.

Would you care to explain exactly how you know what 'God's Truths' are? - WITHOUT recourse to Christian dogma, which is itself founded on an unprovable?

: I would suggest you give Victor Pearce's Evidence for Truth: Archeology and Science series (Eastbourne) a go before you dismiss Joshua.

Which is demonstrably, as Floyd has said, complete nonsense.

: By the way, I heard the weather lady tell me the time for "sunrise" the other day. Did I hear her correctly?

Yes; and you know exactly what she's referring to; local sidereal time; not universal time. The time at which the Earth's rotation brings a spot on the surface out of shadow.

: You mean a PhD on TV actually believes the earth is stationary and the sun moves around it?

Of course she doesn't. Don't be silly, Robert. It's a linguistic convention, nothing more.

: Moreover, she mentioned something about sea-level. Do people really believe the sea is flat?

Again, of course not.

: (Does this not illustrate to you what you do so cleverly with words, Gideon.)

Robert, quit this poisonous mewling; it's not a Christian thing to do.

I use the accepted scientific and logical terminology to describe demonstrable physical phenomena. If you don't understand standard terms, I suggest you try reading a book sometime.

But please don't blame me for your breathtaking ignorance about basic Galilean relativity.

: No one buys it, sorry.

Does this mean that you're now going to stop using any product of the various scientific theories and their applications, Robert?

Have fun in the Stone Age.

: : Oh, and by the way, you know who originally formulated the theory of relativity? Galileo - and the Church nearly killed him for it.

: Kind of like how the official state-run libraries, universities, museums, popular comercial "science" media, do to believers when they dare introduce ideas that "Officialdom" doesn't quite accept as dogma, these days, hey?

Any theory is subjected to standard peer review on its first airing. If it contains much that is demonstrably false it will be rejected out of hand.

If you want to stand up and say that black is white, you are free to; but please don't expect any half-way intelligent audience to accept it as the 'truth'.

: In reality the state-church of the middle ages is the same as the state-bureacrats of today. Entrenched power stays entrenched, especially in universities.

: (Heretic, drag him away...)

Actually, if you care to examine the facts, astronomical debate has been the direct cause of precisely zero deaths in the last 500 years; whereas deaths in the name of Christian orthodoxy have topped many millions.

Scientists may laugh at you, but we never crucify people literally...

Gideon.
