If one absolutely needs to hunt in order to feed one's family, then I do not have a problem with hunting. However, in 21st century America (or wherever you're from, assuming it's an advanced nation), no one needs to hunt to feed themselves.

This leaves hunting as an activity pursued for pleasure. Sorry, but I have a dim view of people who kill animals for pleasure, especially when they drag their children into it as a means of family bonding.
