:: "Which one of you guys will admit that man is superior to animals by at least one dictionary definition? Anybody? Is man not manifestly superior in a miriad measurable ways to animals? Of course he is! Only head of programmed mush will overlook what is manifest to win an argument."If what is manifest to me and a huge percentage of mankind is not manifest to you I suggest the problem isn't mine. The example of the scorpian was given by Deathy. The problem is that we aren't arguing whether or not man is biologically adapted to a desert environment.
If we give the scorpian ample opportunity to prepare for my kitchen freezer (let's give him a whole week) how will he prepare for it?
He won't and he will die. Give me a week and I'll do just fine in the desert.
This simple point underlies this example; I can catch the stupid bug and put him in that freezer. I have authority to do so and the superior wit to prevail. Two dictionary definitions satisfied. I can warn the bug but he can't understand. If he could understand he couldn't prepare. If he could understand and prepare he'd be human.
Kevin, you must be sitting there thinking you've won and I'm just laughing at what a ridiculous argument your making. If you have to break out a dictionary to parse the meaning of a simple word like superior in order to win an argument, it only means that won't accept losing any argument - especially to a guy like me.
