Day 172 - 12 Oct 95 - Page 17

MR. RAMPTON: I have something to mention, therefore, since we
seem to be dealing with administration, if I may. First,
regarding the Bath documents, though your Lordship has not
made a ruling, I think I would perceive your Lordship's
mind clearly enough to know what we ought to start doing.
There is quite a lot to do. Your Lordship did not -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am expecting Mr. Dudley to come back with
       the ruling shortly.

MR. RAMPTON: That is very good. That adds fuel to what I am
about to say, I think, which is that there will be a
considerable amount to do in relation to the Bath
documents, but we would like to have -- and I think, in the
event, will need -- the assistance of a McDonald's person
from the original office to get all the material together,
because Mrs. Brinley-Codd cannot go down and spend a day
and a half or two days at Bath doing it herself.

The reason I raise it is that your Lordship said originally
to Mr. Richards tht he should not talk to any McDonald's
people. The person from the Regional Office who is not
part of the Bath outfit will probably need Mr. Richards'
help in finding the exact documents, which we will by then
have identified. I just ask your Lordship's leave that for
that logistical exercise the person from Regional Office
should be able to speak to Mr. Richards as needed -- just
about the documents only, of course.

MR. MORRIS: We do not have any objection.

MR. RAMPTON: The other thing is this: your Lordship said
yesterday -- and, indeed, on a previous occasion -- that
you would only sit two days of the week beginning
23rd October, that being Mr. Morris' half term week; choice
Mr. Morris' discretion. I would ask actually, if I may --
and there is a very good reason for it -- that your
Lordship should say now that we should not sit in any event
       on Monday the 23rd.

MR. MORRIS: If it helps, I was planning to make it the Thursday
       and the Friday.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Unless there is anything you want to say on
the topic, make your choice, any two days of the Tuesday to
Friday, preferably back to back. But we will not sit on
       the Monday.

  MR. MORRIS: That is fine.

MR. RAMPTON: The only other thing I would say is that I would
like to know fairly soon who else besides Mr. Whittle is
going to come next at the end of next week, Wednesday and
       Thursday.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you help any further on that at the
       moment, Mr. Morris?

MR. MORRIS: No, I cannot help any more, but that was something
