Day 167 - 02 Oct 95 - Page 12

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, you tell me. It is a civil court; it is
       not a criminal one.

MS. STEEL: I may get a different answer from the witness if he
knows what the question is leading to. It is relevant to a
       pleaded matter.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, I want you to tell me. I very nearly
said we have a thousand and one issues already; in
       fact ---

MS. STEEL: It is something that has been in issue already.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- that is a gross underestimate. You either
tell me or pass on to something else.

MS. STEEL: I think I actually asked the question about what it
was related to, but then I got the interruption.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Then there is no harm in telling us.

MS. STEEL: What I said was, "Obviously, one of the spin-offs
to that is that the children become much more aware of the
Company", that is at page 8, line 46.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where are you going from there?

MS. STEEL: I really do not think it is fair that we are forced
to reveal the line of cross-examination in front of a
       witness.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, in that case you must move on to
something else. If you are not prepared to tell me, you
must move on to something else.

MS. STEEL: Look, I am virtually there but I just do not
       particularly want to say it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Move on to something else.

MS. STEEL: What it refers to is about advertising, advertising
       to children.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I thought it might do that. We have already
had a lot of evidence about that. I am not prepared to
have time spent just because someone else comes into the
witness box to go over that kind of ground.

MS. STEEL: Yes, but we have had a denial that it plays a large
       part of their advertising.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Move on to something else, please. What are
       you doing now, Ms. Steel?

MS. STEEL: I am making a note of your judgment.
(To the witness): The training courses that are run for
Managers, you also train Managers of franchise stores; is
       that correct?
       A. That is correct, yes.
