13 Associations; the National Federation of Consumer Groups;
14 the National Federation of Women's Institutes; the Society
15 of Health Education and Health Promotion Specialists; the
16 World Cancer Research Fund. Observers of the National Food
17 Alliance include the British Medical Association and the
18 Consumers Association; the Health Education Authority; the
19 Institute of Trading Standards Administration; the National
20 Consumer Council; the National Forum for Coronary Heart
21 Disease Prevention; the Royal Society of Medicine for Food
22 & Health Forum; the Scottish Consumer Council; the Welsh

27 A. Yes, they do.

29 Q. As part of your work, is it right that you have also met
30 with, as well as making submissions, the advertising
31 regulatory bodies and representatives of the advertising
32 industry?
33 A. Yes, it has been part of my role to meet with the
34 advertising regulatory bodies, with advertisers and with
35 the industry to try to seek common ground on the area of
36 children and food advertising.

38 Q. Right. Have you spoken at any conferences and seminars?
39 A. Yes, I have spoken on the subject at a number of
40 conferences and seminars, including the European Conference
41 organised by Belgium presidency of the EU. I have also
42 spoken to the International Organisation of Consumer Unions
43 meeting this year on the subject. In the UK I have spoken
44 at the National Forum for Coronary Heart Disease Prevention
45 conference into Children's Diet. I have also spoken at
46 industry seminars such as the Advertising Associations,
47 Peterhouse seminar.

49 Q. What were you talking about to the industry, just
50 generally, what kind of the things were they interested in
51 hearing from you?
52 A. Broadly, I was speaking about the NFA's policy in this
53 area, and our recommendations and seeking areas where the
54 National Food Alliance might find common ground areas where
55 we could seek to work together.

58 tell the court about?
59 A. I have, as part of my Certificate in Management, which
60 is the part 1 of an MBA course, I studied marketing. That
