       A. If somebody said to me, "Do McDonald's really kill
animals", I would say, "Yes. How do you think the meat is
       produced without killing animals?"

  Q. I am interested in what I call that piece of black
propaganda. No doubt that film was discussed with the
       children?
       A. The actual film was discussed with the children, yes.

  Q. In the context of McDonald's?
       A. No, not in the context of McDonald's. I cannot think
of an instance when it was.

  Q. Why did you show the film to the children?
       A. Why do we show it? To give them the reality of what
meat production is causing, the consequences, just to show
them what is going on in the world.

  Q. McDonald's, you told us, was the only fast food or
       hamburger outfit that was ever mentioned by any children;
       is that right?
       A. That is right, yes.

  Q. Do you mean to say that they never asked you anything about
McDonald's in relation to that film?
       A. I cannot think of people asking about McDonald's in
relation to the film, only in relation to actually going
       there.

  Q. Have you kept any written records of your many hundreds or
thousands of conversations with these children?
       A. I have kept some records, because some of it was
       filmed.

  Q. Have you published anything, any articles you have written
in magazines about the power of advertising, or anything
       like that?
       A. No.

  Q. Do you keep a record of the questions that you ask the
       children?
       A. No, but because I do the talk so often, I do not really
need to keep a record for the purpose of my own work.

  Q. Do you, yourself, raise questions about ronald mcdonald and
the McNuggetts, and so on and so forth?
       A. With ronald mcdonald, if a younger child brought it up,
they started talking about ronald mcdonald then, yes, I may
further ask them a question of what they thought about it,
       yes.

  Q. Do you ask them about the advertising?
       A. Yes, sometimes, yes.

  Q. What sort of questions do you ask them?
       A. Well, if they said something like, "I want to meet my
friend on a Saturday in McDonald's and if I go vegetarian I
cannot", I would ask them something about, "Why do you feel
that strongly about going to McDonald's", and they may
bring up the advertising and the general feeling about why
