Day 019 - 27 Jul 94 - Page 25
1 Council on animal health and welfare.
2 MR. RAMPTON: Perhaps the defendants would not mind waiting, my
Lord, until I have a copy myself?
3
MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not think I have one either.
4
MS. STEEL: They should be in the blue.
5
MR. RAMPTON: I only ask that we wait until everybody has a
6 copy.
7 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. If I am given a number it would
probably help. Do you have the number of the document?
8
MS. STEEL: The second supplemental list, No. 27. I think we
9 can probably manage without it; we are only going through
the names in it.
10
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just tell me.
11
MS. STEEL: At the moment we are just talking about the names
12 on the broiler production working group, so it does not
matter that much you have not got it.
13
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are you going to put them all or just some
14 of them?
15 MS. STEEL: There are only five of them.
16 MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have it anyway now.
A. Which page were you at?
17
MS. STEEL: Page 27.
18
MR. MORRIS: Internal page 27.
19
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.
20
MS. STEEL: Mr. Hollands, I think he is connected with
21 welfare?
A. That is correct. He is principally in the area of
22 live animal experimentation, experimentation on live
animals.
23
Q. Is he connected to some body then?
24 A. He has served on very many committees, including the
Council of Europe. I am not sure where his sources of
25 income are, if that is what you mean.
26 Q. Then Mr. Pattison who, of course -----
A. He is employed by Sun Valley. He replaced Mr. Don
27 Haxby during the course of this working group's
deliberations. Mr. Haxby is -- well, was at that time --
28 a practising veterinarian in the poultry industry in East
Anglia. Dr. Pattison, as you know, is connected with Sun
29 Valley.
30 Q. What about Mr. Shields?
A. I do not know Mr. Shields' background.
