: # I was 14 years old at the time.Thank you.come on, if you were 2 years old, then i'd understand. ( what are you thanking me for? )
AMC:
: Another thing. How can you sit there all high and mighty and judge me for not leaving my town? Has it ever occured to you that I might have friends and a boyfriend here? Has it ever occured to you that I have to financially help my mum and my two younger sisters? Especially considering that my dad was in a accident last year???? You probably never thought that I had my reasons but now you know. So please shut up.
tree frog:
i won't shut up.
of course these things occured to me. if fact i expected you to write something exactly like this. everyone has a sob story. everyone has an excuse. i've heard them all. i have my own.
getting back to the begining of this debate, how well do you know your managers? do you have any idea what thier hardships were in life?
do you realize that in the mc donalds chain of command, your managers are closer to the bottom than to the top? meaning that they are closer to being in your boat than they are to any corporate position. if you have problems with mcdonalds you shouldn't put the blame on the managers, because your putting it in the wrong place. managers are just crew members with a different shirt, and a key.
so who do you thik you are, so high and mighty, that you are a better person than they are?
you are NOT. that is what i have been getting at all along. i'm not disregarding your financial, family and environmental situation. it sounds to me like you have a difficult situation layed out for you, and you may not belive it, but i can relate to that.
what i can not relate to and what i cannot understand is why one person can believe that she is essentially better than another. I've worked with people who were twice my age who had a third of my education, and who couldn't keep a level of fries up for lunch to save themselves. clearly, they would likely never find work exceeding the level of mc crew member. but i never once believed that i was a better person than them.
of course i'll go farther than that person education wise, career wise and income wise. but i'll never feel that i am worth more as a person than them.
if you stick with the attitude that you are better than any one group of people, than you are feeding into the thinking that allows exploitation in the first place.
None.
