my guess is that you are very young and this is your first job. believe me it is a trap. i worked in fast food for 5 years. i too was given shift manager, and assistant manager positions. and the pay was great. thats how you get trapped. when you finally tire of fast food in a couple years, as i surely will happen, it happens to all of us, you will venture out to see other opportunities and find that no one will hire you except other restaurants, because that is where all of your experience centers around. i'm not trying to tell you you will never get out,but it will be hard because it is likely that you will have to start a new job in a different field at that very bottom of the pay scale and hope to rework you way back up. this is comming from someone who knows what she's talking about. it happened to me. so while you're working at mc donalds i urge you to enroll in college, or technical school so that you will have opportunities open for you when you get out.
