Mike Bacon writes: Keep it up Loui, and you're certain TO get caught! It's my understanding that here in the States, most locations feature half-off meals for the crew (That would work for me just fine!). I don't know how it is in Australia, but free meal, % off meal, or full-price, that's the franchise owner's decision, which you were aware of when you signed that piece of paper!
Okay, Mike, so what you're saying is that once you've signed that
bit of paper, you're no longer a free agent? That it doesn't matter
if it was a choice between taking that job and starving? (Remember, all you happy little Chamber of Commerce members out
there, that about half of minimum-wage workers in the U.S. are in
fact the primary wage earners in their household.) Are you
saying that once you've signed, you are no longer free to make
changes in your working conditions, either by negotiating, or by
taking direct action on your own? You're simply at the master's
beck and call, living by the terms that s/he dictates as a property
owner and employer?
Mike, this is why they call it WAGE SLAVERY. Somehow you've gotten
it into your head that people are slaves, that this is a natural
condition for them, and that anything they do to try to ease their
misery is somehow evil, ungodly, an affront to the sacred rights
of private property and McBu$ine$$.
Chow down, Loui. I wouldn't eat that disgusting grease-soaked food
if they gave it to me for free, but I'm happy knowing your belly is
full. On the wages you probably make there, you could stand to
save money on groceries.
cheers,
Gordo
