: Finally, what would YOU do if you caught an employee under your supervision stealing?Ha ha ha. Oh dear me, I'll try and answer that one with a straight
face. (Help me, Jesus.) If *I* caught an employee *UNDER MY
SUPERVISION* (snicker, guffaw) "STEALING"...
The easy answer is that this situation never would arise. I refuse
to take any job in which I will be "responsible for" the performance
of others, as though they were children. I think adult persons
are capable of making their own reasoned decisions with regard to running a business. The notion of people needing a "supervisor" to
show them how to flip burgers and tidy up is fairly ridiculous when
you look at it: Assuming you cook for yourself at home, do you
need a "supervisor" there to watch you make dinner?
The horrible thing about the fast food industry, of course, is that's
the only way you can make a real advance in pay and benefits: Become
a petty boss yourself, and be "in charge" of people. If you would
rather see people be "in charge" of themselves, there is little
you can do within the industry - except organize, to try to change
it into something better. And that's not the easiest thing to do -
just the right thing.
None.
