: I worked at McDonalds for 2 years and 2 months...for a month and a half I was management. I agree with the people that say it's a great place to work. I had a great time..met some really great people. But, the people were not enough to keep me there. I think it's sad that a company that big pays so bad. Before getting promoted I made $7.10/hr, and then as swing I made $8.35. A company as big as McDonalds could surely afford to start people off at more than they do though. I bet if they paid more, employees would stay a lot longer, and would be happier (happier = more productive)

I know the feeling. I met some of my best friends at McD's, including my one true love in life. But I have been looking for a pay increase for a while and sadly I have not gotten one, even after countless gleaming wondereful writeups, and requests by every manager in the store to be promoted, I havent gotten SHIT. I guess I should goto the supervisor about it since my store manager is doing nothing. I love working at McD's, i love the people there and I dont want to leave, but if I dont get more cash fast I may be forced to. I still suport some McD's as good jobs but the fact that a kid who started a week before me, does half the work that I do gets paid 10 cents more than me is BS. Well its better than some other McD's in my area, i've heard of everrything from robberies by ex employees to employes personal effects (jackets etc) being taken from the crew room. Apparently McD's can be great or it can be a bitch, but from one of the largest companies in the world a little more than Minimum wage to start with would be nice......

The Average McD's Worker
