McD has had the freedom to lie for years!

Are you saying whoever criticises McD is a lier? Well, as we have all heard, McD was found (by the judge at McLibel case) to have been lying through their teeth for years now - about their product being healthy, not exploiting their workforce, not subjecting animals to cruelty, not exploiting vulnerability of children to adverts etc etc. It is only thanks to McD critics and Helen and Dave specially that these lies have been exposed and confirmed now.
