PETA Protests Italian McDonald'sThe Associated Press, Friday December 17, 1999
Rome (AP) - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
brought its public relations assault on McDonald's to
Italy on Friday.
The campaign opened with a small demonstration outside a
McDonald's restaurant in Rome, PETA said, and will
continue with demonstrations at McDonald's branches
elsewhere in Italy.
PETA began the campaign against cruelty to animals
slaughtered for McDonald's this fall in the United
States.
McDonald's said at the time that it has taken steps to
reduce the suffering of animals, such as training at its
suppliers' slaughterhouses.
Not for commercial use. Solely to be fairly used for the
educational purposes of research and open discussion.
