: : : Direct democracy after proerty relations have changed, Bill...

: : I'd rather not wait...besides, property relations will change as a result of direct, radical democracy.

: What do you propose?
:
: Standing on the street with a petition in your hand?

: 'Protesting' the WTO on November 30th with a picket sign?

Yes. Real social change Always begins with picket signs and petitions.

: Will any of these things change the private ownership of the means of production by a minority?

It depends on the momentum developed.

: Have any of these things done so in the past?

First you have to get the boot off the neck in order to breathe. That means demonstrations - from the 8 hour day to the elimination of the WTO as it is constituted. The end objective always remains the mastery of working people over their own fate.

I have absolute confidence that given the opportunity, the overwhelming majority of people would support the aims of the Greens - which include social and economic justice. Since the overwhelming majority Now support the concept of democracy (an anathema to the "Representative Republic" types) - why not go with it?
