That's what people were saying before the last campaing reforms, remember? Those were the days when deals were cut in back rooms filled with cigar smoke. The reforms of the early 70's were made to do away with that sort of 'good 'ole boy' network, the reforms would do away with cronyism. Remember?

What we got instead were lobbyists. That's what we got.
The fixes that were supposed to fix didn't fix.
Now people are crying the same blues; "We need campaign finance reform!" "ETC, ETC."
Let me make a prediction; It won't matter what 'reform' is instituted. There will always be enough uninformed voters around for politicians to manipulate to their own ends.
