Those children, often spoiled, are bigotted toward the poor because they do not understand the effort, mindpower and sheer hard work that creating wealth requires. Their parents (or grandparents) did it - all wealth is created - but they did not.

I do hate it when a rich kid sneers at the poor and gets jobs via connections. I *dont* hate it when a rich kid gets a better education , uses it and takes responsibility for his own life - even if that means that I (starting lowly) cant keep up without additional effort. I cannot hate such a person like I cannot hate Donovan bailey being born with good running genetics. His birth advantages are not his 'fault' or 'reward', and my *relative* disadvantes are not his fault either. I owe him nothing, he owes me nothing.

: I didn't get to go to an Ivy league school; my folks have no connections. I'm probably going to be in the low income bracket for my whole life, no matter how hard I work or how many community college classes I take, and my 'raw smarts' don't really count for anything, because I'm not gifted with the ability to know how to make money.

Then your not going to make any. I'm not gifted with basketball talent, so im not going to score many hoops. But dont just throw your hands up and give in - there are 'rags to riches' stories, and the US still has the highest ratio of 'poor to rich' that I know of (Time mag) even if the growing statism is crushing the individual
