: Capitalism and democracy can not be uttered in the same sentence. Capitalism by it's very nature can not be a democracy, because the amoutn of influence one has is directly attributed to the amount of their wealth.

That's not true. There are many great people who have influenced our society and weren't wealthy. If you're speaking in terms of influence with politicians , you con't bame this on capitalism. The fault lies with the American voter being so apathetic. If people would act with the power they've been given in the U.S. their influence could be felt. Certain rights we have aren't dependent on the amount of money we have. We all have the right to vote, the right to assemble, and the right of free speech. The people have been given these strong weapons to let there voice be heard, most simply choose not to employ them. Don't point blame at capitalism, rather aim it at those who opt to sit on their asses.
