: : Keep in mind that insurrection=violence and you'll understand why many people, especially people with children, want nothing to do with it.: By that logic, we'd all still be serfs giving half our labor-power to the feudal lords who owned us (instead of fighting for the revolutions that brought the bourgeoisie and their liberalism into power).
The fact that violent revolutions have taken place does not contradict what I said, namely, that people with children are loathe to support a violent upheaval of society. Unless that society is already more violent than a potential revolution, that is -- which is not the case with life in the USA circa 2000.
: In short: democracy came into the world by ANYTHING but democratic means.
Are you happy with the results?
: Taking your support for liberalism as a given, what you're saying is that the bourgeois revolution was worth fighting for but the proletarian revolution isn't.
Please don't put words in my mouth, Barry. You know from my previous postings to you that I believe a classless society should be our ultimate destination. Where there is disagreement here is, how shall that destination be arrived at?
: Speaking of family life and feudalism, smart guy,
"Smart guy?" You are a pill, Barry.
