: Any system of government must involve some element of control - even the perfect communist form, does because otherwise no-one would decide upon the allocation of resources.

What element of control? You mean the control of the state and industry by citizens and the working people engaged in the industry? Yeah, that's requisite to Communism or Socialism, we cant have a bunch of private powerful individuals making unaccountable decisions about resources now can we? Oh, yeah, we already do but I mean 'post-revolution'.

:Thus, a form of control without the backing of the people is no more than glorified slavery.

Definitely, one hundred percent with you on this score friend, freedom without socialism is inequity, injustice and waste but socialism without freedom is brutality, slavery and mechanical privilege.

: : : McSpotlight: When has a democratic election included the chance to vote for a Marxist or Communist on an equal footing to the capitalist parties?

: I can't answer that in relation to America. In Australia there is a communist party.

It's not on a fair footing but is it? The only place that the Communist Party even participates in government with a more or less legitimate non-lunacy status is Russia or France and I dont know, they vote for brown shirts and facists aswell.
