: Bad move, old chap. If the Japs hadn't had Pearl Harbor to attack the Americans would've never got involved in the war in the Pacific. The Japs would have run amok over the Far East and probably have succeeded in their Greater Asia Co-prosperity Sphere scheme. This would probably have posed a problem for the Russkys too, who may not have weathered a second front facing the Japs approaching from Port Arthur.

Well Old Boy, first off it's good to remember that our Japanese friends consider "Jap" a slur. Since you do like to nosh on one of their favorite dishes, y'ought to keep this in mind.
Playing "What If?" with history is fun, but hard to draw solid conclusions from. Would the U.S. eventually have fought against the Japanese, even if P.H. never happened? Perhaps. After all, Japan was a member of the evil Axis.
What's for certain is that we stole Hawaii from its Polynesian inhabitants; with that as a basis, you are now free to draw your own conclusions on the merits of this aggression.
