Karl who??

Some time ago I posted three items by a gentleman whose name is Igor Shafarevich. I took the material from Alexander Solzhenitsyn's "From under the Rubble".
The thrust of the material I posted by I. Shaferevich is that Socialism has been tried many times throughout history; the Mesopotamians, the Incas, the Egyptians et al. In each of these societies the individual is a part of the state with out individual rights.
According to Marx though economic systems will eventuall synthesize into something that the world has never experienced- Socialism/Communism.
Why is so much honor accorded to a man who didn't recognize the past attempts at Socialism?
In my opinon, it is Capitalism that is the 'new boy on the block', in historical terms. It is much newer than Communism/Socialism. Wouldn't that portend an eventual world synthesis towards Capitalism of different shades and colors depending where it is employed? Especially given the results in standard of living compared with Communism/Socialism?
Again, why would anyone care about what Marx has to say about history given his biased interpretation?
