: And I do want to say something about "pride" marches. Whenever a particular social group wants to hold a "pride" march, it usually has only a tangential relationship to the word "pride".

SDF: One definite exception: "Hispanic pride" is at times an expression of out-and-out Mexican nationalism, complete with eagles clutching serpents.
