Oh, very definitely yes, the success of Christian Unions across the UK on University Campuses and Christian (that is Alcohol, fight and generally fun free) Nightclubs can be put down to the ready made social network of dead on, decent people. That and the holy terror that you might be going to hell if you dont conform with these peoples out look and engage in rightwing moralising but that only suckers in weak willed dupes.

Marx said religion was the opium of the people I think he was right but hey in a refined form (morphine) opium is used to treat pain and sufferig and religion can do the same thing.
