: Really, so the BNP, which stands for protectionism, insularism and good ol' fashioned racism, is just expressing legitimate sentiments? Too right. They're views aren't illegal yet, though I'm sure some proto fascist liberals would like them to be. They provide a voice, however unacceptable what they may say is, to a section of society which would otherwise have none. Me I hate it, I really believe that my country has gained enormously from all the immigration beginning with the Jews, the French, and the Irish and contining with the Kosovans, Algerians and whatever else. But I still think they must be allowed to say it. If the BNP is such a danger then why have they never won a single seat in parliament?
What is the difference between nationalism and racism. Don't bother, I'll tell you- non.
surely moderation versus extremism? posting messages at McSpotlight against storming the LIFFE building and attacking police vans (allegedly). Or do the violent expression of your views against everyone else somehow make you different? Is bombing the home of a scientist any diffeerent from bombing the home of someone of a different race?
The most racist white people I regularly meet are not skinheads, we don't seem to have that many in my part of South London, but rather little old ladies who see a society which has become more violent since they were young, and equate that with hte blacks and Asians they hear about shooting or knifing each other. Not that racism and violence are purely the preserve of whites oh no....
I think the linking factor in all this is dispossion
