: Does it annoy you that in America we choose not to set aside a day to remember the sacrifices of workers and the value of equality? We have a day set aside for gratitude; we have a day when we remember dead soldiers and their sacrifice; we have a day when we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Yet we choose not to respect the workers and activists who lived and died in o=rder to make teh world a more humane place.

: Is something wrong here?

: McSpotlight: Sorry about the delay putting this up; Monday was the May Day bank holiday here in the UK...

Well, i've lived in the US all my life and yes there are people here who celebrate may day, maybe not as whole heartedly as christmas, etc.
As a kid in girl scouts we brought "may baskets" to nursing homes to give to the elderly and to visit them. There are may pole dances too. I'm not much of a holiday person so i'm not too up on my may day facts but I know it is observed by at least some here.
