Why is May Day not recognized in America?

How do you all respond to the fact that the United States is virtually the only major country that doesn't just noit celebrate may Day, it barely even recognizes its existence? May Day is celebrated worldwide as a day on which people re-commit themselves to the ideal of equality and realize once again that equality, though it may be far away at the moment, is nevertheless a goal that we must all strive for. May Day is also a day on which people recognize which class really produces the wealth of society and keeps society going.

Does it annoy you that in America we choose not to set aside a day to remember the sacrifices of workers and the value of equality? We have a day set aside for gratitude; we have a day when we remember dead soldiers and their sacrifice; we have a day when we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Yet we choose not to respect the workers and activists who lived and died in o=rder to make teh world a more humane place.

Is something wrong here?
