: SDF: Lark, it's a good thing to recall the intense concentration of wealth at the top in the American economy, and the fact that these people own almost all the allowed media outlets and are at the same time the biggest lampreys sucking up the Federal Budget. The big TV networks here are owned by people with a stranglehold on this money. The folks at DFD are angry that their research doesn't count as news to any of these people.

I was actually just posting after having seen this American Journalist on RTE (Irish TV) saying he thought Ireland was brilliant because the people didnt believe anything that was printed in the papers until it was really, really varified. I think this is the attitude everybody should have never trust people who sat inequity and statism is necessary to build a strong economy or protect society until it's proven.

: SDF: Unfortunately, Lark, about 1/4 of America's population is under the spell of religious fundamentalists. We Americans are required to look for hope elsewhere.

Hey caught your link man that stuffs real scary all that hate is good nonsense, it makes me tempted to become an atheist, I mean with a tolerant version of doing good simply because it's good not because your looking a reward in the after life I think athiest are the best Christians around.

I also believe in a lot of Zoroasterianism, neo-celtic christian beliefs and elements of rastapharianism so I found that guys white, middleclass, protestant fundamentalism insulting.

That said people call me a fundamentalist. Or is it fanatic?

: SDF: This is not a problem everywhere, mostly it's a problems in places like northwest Louisiana where the big polluters hire a Mafia. Actually it's really interesting that environmentalists have the clout they have, given the lack of concern generally voiced in America about the environment and the paucity of resources that are generally devoted to environmental preservation.

The Greens are cool in the US and Europe (in Europe they're led by Cohn Benhit, you know the "leader" in France '68, curious anarchist that participating in parliament) but they suck in Britain and Ireland they're sort of benevolent conservatives, the old style paternalistic one nation keynesian right wingers you know?
