SDF: Lark, it's a good thing to recall the intense concentration of wealth at the top in the American economy, and the fact that these people own almost all the allowed media outlets and are at the same time the biggest lampreys sucking up the Federal Budget. The big TV networks here are owned by people with a stranglehold on this money. The folks at DFD are angry that their research doesn't count as news to any of these people.
: Take the republicans they preach to every single parent (people should have the right to have a family and not a partner if they CHOOSE) etc. about taking responsiblity for their actions but then they get this real mental block when it comes to companies etc.
SDF: Unfortunately, Lark, about 1/4 of America's population is under the spell of religious fundamentalists. We Americans are required to look for hope elsewhere.
: They pollute the fuck out of the air etc. but because it's never reported when the rain falls as ash or acid everyone is wondering around, including the republicans, going why's this happening? hell it must have something to do with that volcano. That's right blame nature, cant you see what's happening in front of your face?
SDF: This is not a problem everywhere, mostly it's a problems in places like northwest Louisiana where the big polluters hire a Mafia. Actually it's really interesting that environmentalists have the clout they have, given the lack of concern generally voiced in America about the environment and the paucity of resources that are generally devoted to environmental preservation.
