Dad, re-read my posts. This so patently mischaracterizes my position that I won't let it pass. I've rarely, in all my posts on this issue, argued anything else other than a natural aversion to homosexuality. I have, for the most part, left any Biblical judgment out of it. The reason for this is that I beleive the argument against affirming homosexuality should occur soley in the secular arena. According to the bible, God will judge the heart of every sinner, not just certain ones. But a cavalier attitude about the propogation of homosexuality within our culture works to destroy it.

I would note that some argue that "Erm, I'm not queer, and I have no revulsion towards homosexuality whatsoever." - Deathy. My answer to that is this,

Deathy (and anyone else who says something similar), if there is no man on this planet whose sexual advances you would welcome, how in the world can you claim you have no revulsion (or at least aversion) to homosexuality? Of course you have an aversion - unless of course there may be such a man - then your lying about not being a homosexual.

I make no accusation of Deathy here. This only points out the untennable position one takes in defending what is clearly deviant behavior. I do contend that God gives man this natural sexual attraction to women and revulsion to men but even if you don't believe in God, the revulsion is there and undeniable.

: Stuart, not being a homosexual himself (or being a damn good actor) and probably having read Leviticus 20:13 (I believe this is the hot-button verse on homosexuality) has every BIBLICAL right to judge the living crap out of anything that’s gay and breaths air.

Problem is Dad, I really was troubled by the obvious pain the homosexuals I knew were in. I never for one moment thought to subject them to more pain with a biblical judgment of their situation. It can work for my detractors to characterize me as an ogre but I'll bet good money they know fewer homosexuals than I. What I saw was a group of guys who chose their lifestyle in defiance of one or two dominant parents. Not that it's completely black and white, as that statement may connote, but most of them fit that stereotype. At that time and at this time, I felt that I knew what they needed and wanted most. I know you don't agree that Christ has their peace but I want you to know that I don't like abject judgment of anything.

: What I wish folks like Stuart would pick up on is that one does not need the Bible to behave ethically or to possess and dispense morals.
I agree, but morality is relative and able to be used manipulatively if not based on an unshakable standard. Our society has witnessed a vast decline in moral behavior as such a standard is removed from public discourse in the numerous ways that is has recently. If you recall, the ten commandments were given in response to a very quick lapse into hedonism and idol worship. Removing any reference to God in our culture and instead filling our children's heads with acceptance and tolerance of perversion rather than with math, reading, and science may soon result in a society where the "blitheringly simplistic and general" concepts offered by the Bible have merit.
