No worries and plenty of room

Gideon, dear physicist with space science,

: : In writing the communist theorises equality but in practice he is Imperial. Do you not recognise the carnal subjugation yourself?

: Could you speak plainly and define your terms? How does does Marxism have anything to do with carnality?

Dialectical MATERIALISM. Is that not carnal enough or clear enough to understand?

: Since you mention it, though, extreme global warming could be the end of carbon-based life on Earth, if the Earth follows a similar path to Venus, which suffered from a runaway Greenhouse Effect earlier in that planet's history. However, this wouldn't happen in the short term; what I'm addressing is societal collapse within my lifetime.

Phew, I'm glad we don't have to worry about that anymore. How encouraging.

: : : Actually, it's a Christian-originated scare, that; the idea that every barcode has "666" for the Beast on it is a fantasy straight out of Revelations.

: : Jesus said, "My Kingdom is not of this world", so I see no need to fret over such a thing regardless of who pedals the fear and under what pretence it is pedaled.

: So why did you bring it up in the first place?

You are the one who equated millenialism with Christianity, I didn't. I've always maintained that it is mere pharisee-ism (kingdom of God ON EARTH) not the Kingdom of Grace. It could never be since the kingdom on earth and Christ's Kingdom of Grace cannot twine. In its basic sense, millenialism is exactly the same as environmentalism. More on this later. Look for a posting up top.

: Did I mention the word "fear"? I'm saying that an appropriate amount of caution needs to be displayed, not just a blind faith.

You did entitle one of your posts "I'm worried". You do say that there will be societal collapse. Just read your own diatribe up the page equating earth to Venus and how we may all be baked to a golden crisp.

: "Actually, you're frightened because you know God exists but don't want to admit it, as does everyone else in the world, so it's my duty to God to turn everyone into a Christian so that they can be saved too. Such worldly things like food and freedom and equality are things of this world and thus Unimportant."

: Good grief. Are you a missionary, by any chance?

I cannot "turn" anyone into a Christian. They must come to the Throne of Grace of their own volition. They also must be called by God. That is a paradox that goes beyond our cosmos. As for missionary status, all Christians are given the Great Commission to send the Good News to the highways and hedges of all nations.

: And what reason outside yourself do you have to believe that your truth is any more firm than a Moslem's or a Hindu's?

All alternatives to Jesus Christ are either totally inward-looking (the self) or in denial of God's full transcendence (limited by man's dimensions). Hence they are clearly man-made products bound in some way to this earth, not a personal relationship with God outside of our realm. Moreover they require some earthly merit for approval. Christ's salvation requires NO merit on behalf of the individual, only faith. Christ does the justifying through His sacrifice on the Cross. Perhaps you too will come to the foot of the Cross, there is plenty of room. God Bless.
