: you don't even know what you're talking about! my guess is that you're just going by the stories hyped up by the media. any thing you hear on the news should be filtered upon entry into your brain, and taken with a grain of salt. you should know better.: truth is, if you walked into most catholic churches nowadays, you would lay your eyes mostly on a bunch of 100 year old widows.
: the number of parishoners is dwindling. people are too lazy(including myself) to get up for church on sundays.

Sorry Dtg. Maybe we didnt illustrate the problem thoroughly. No one is blaming the congregation. We are blaming the men and women who have stood before us for 2000 years saying God requires our money. We are blaming the people who commisioned the crusades. We are blaming the people who have slaughterd countless innocents worldwide and said it was Gods will.
I have a stong and heartfelt beleif in the right to worship as you wish providing you dont propose to speak for my money or judge or do violence to another.
Honestly-can you say the papacy has lived up to this simple rule of gold?
I too have strong personal beliefs about my soul and what occurs when my body perishes. I will never kill someone for not agreeing with that belief. Nor would I tell others they must believe the same lest they perish in a fiery pit. Lastly I would not be vain enough to ask for their money.
Your assertion of our ignorance is, I'm sure, a knee jerk reaction to what you believed a personal attack. I'll forgive it. Please find your peace wherever you can but dont deny the TRUTH of the injustice that has been visited upon my ancestors.
