Day 273 - 03 Jul 96 - Page 38

MR. MORRIS: And they all had that--

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause, please, Mr. Morris. I want to
make a note before you ask another question. Could that be
handed back to Mr. Rampton. (Same handed) Thank you.

MR. MORRIS: And every printed Veggies fact sheet had this on
       the front?
       A. That is on the front, yes.

  Q. "What is wrong with McDonald's. Everything they do not
want you to know", and the graphics, yes.

  Q. Just one last question, how many copies of A5 fliers have
Veggies printed, just some rough figure, over the years?
       A. We have never actually kept a very accurate count but
it must be somewhere in the hundred's of thousands. We
tend to do 5 or 10,000 at a time.

  Q. I do not think there are any further questions.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Well just take a moment.

  MR. MORRIS: No further questions.

MR. RAMPTON: No cross-examination, my Lord.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will take my sheet back, Mr. Smith, before
I lose it. Thank you. You can leave the witness box.
       Leave the folders there.
       A. Thank you

                       (The witness withdrew)

MR. RAMPTON: I will wait for the witness to leave.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know if the message got to your Lordship
but certainly I think the defendants have been told. Mr.
Bishop cannot be here today because he is still out of the
       jurisdiction.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. But it is hoped that he could give
       evidence after Miss Lapport tomorrow?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, subject to this, my understanding was -- and
I have not been fully involved in this, I was only there at
the beginning of it -- but my understanding is -- there is
supposed to be a discrepancy between what he wrote on page
203 of the agent's notes regarding the 20th September
1990. My Lord, at the end of what your Lordship does not
       accept is the first paragraph--

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, I am quite happy to now. I thought
you were calling it the second paragraph because there had
been an earlier one which has been blanked out.

MR. RAMPTON: Which says: "Helen Steel had organised the
printing of leaflets for the London Greenpeace fayre."
