Day 273 - 03 Jul 96 - Page 23
A. No, no. I would not have took it upon myself to say,
whenever I spoke, to say that I represented every opinion
in London Greenpeace. I mean, I could not have done. It
was simply too wide. For example, there were pacifists
involved in London Greenpeace. I was not a pacifist, you
know.

MS. STEEL: Okay. No further questions.

MR. MORRIS: No further questions, thank you.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, thank you, Mr. Gravett. If you just put
that up and then leave it there, someone else will clear it
all away.
A. Yes.

(Witness withdrew)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us just pause a moment. We will just
have the volumes put away before Mr. Smith gives evidence.

MR. MORRIS: Can I say that people will need the original list
of documents, tab 208, and, of course, Patrick's statement
itself.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, would you like to call Mr. Smith then.

PATRICK JAMES SMITH, affirmed
Examined by the Defendants

MR. MORRIS: Can you give the court your full name please?
A. My name is Patrick James Smith.

Q. And do you reside in Nottingham?
A. I do.

Q. You can sit down if you like and please speak out.
A. Thank you.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is entirely up to you, if you want to
sit. Keep your voice up though please, Mr. Smith.

MR. MORRIS: If you want any water, there is some there for
you. I am just going to try and find in the files his
statements.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is in the pale blue bottom volume there,
divider 7, near the front, Mr. Smith.

MR. MORRIS: Now, can I just go through checking that everyone
has got the same because there are some --

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will tell you what I have. I have a
statement made by Mr. Smith dated 21st October 1993.

MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I then have a letter from Barlow Lyde and
Gilbert, 8th October 1987. Another December 1987.
