Day 273 - 03 Jul 96 - Page 21

  Q. Why?
       A. Because it would have surprised me because I knew you
had been long enough in the group to know that we did not
hand out fact sheets on demonstrations.

  Q. Okay. Mr. Rampton.... Sorry?
       A. I would have gone up to you and asked you why you were
       doing it.

  Q. Right. Mr. Rampton said to you yesterday there was no
dispute that by 1990 the group had other interests than
McDonald's. Did the group have other interests than
       McDonald's before 1990?
       A. The group had other interests ever since I started
       going to it in 1986.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not think that is disputed at all.

MS. STEEL: It is the way Mr. Rampton tries to put things over.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Nothing Mr. Rampton has said in the whole of
this trial has given me the impression that --

MS. STEEL: He did say yesterday there was no dispute that by
1990 the group had other interests.

MR. RAMPTON: That is - what shall I say --

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you are attaching too much
       significance to it.

MR. RAMPTON: What I actually put to the witness was that in
1989 at least McDonald's was one of the main targets.

MS. STEEL: Yes. If you could get the private investigator's
       notes please.
       A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Sorry, I want to ask a question myself. In the
private investigator's notes, I will just read them out to
you, but if anyone wants the reference it is Brian Bishop,
24th May, page 2. In the middle of the page it reads: --

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, hold on. You have the advantage that
you have got the page before you tell anyone where you are.

  MR. MORRIS: Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: So let us just find it.

MS. STEEL: It is page 124.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you. Yes?

MR. MORRIS: In the middle of that page it is said that somebody
telephoned Dave. It is said that someone telephoned Dave,
in brackets, Morris, question mark. So they were not sure
if it was me or not?
       A. Yes.
