Day 273 - 03 Jul 96 - Page 12
not include the fact sheet when I was involved in doing it.

Q. Do you not remember Mr. Morris suggesting a visit to Moscow
to protest outside the new McDonald's restaurant there?
A. No, I do not remember. I remember it being discussed
at the group maybe sometime in that year and I can remember
thinking it would be a good idea, but I do not remember
Dave bringing it up, you know, at this meeting, no, no.

Q. But if it is an accurate record of what took place, Mr.
Gravett, then, as sure as eggs, Mr. Morris was making a
very bold suggestion as a way of taking the anti-McDonald's
campaign forward, was he not?
A. Well, all I can say, you know, is what I said earlier,
is that I do not remember him saying this.

Q. Then can I ask you about one other thing, which is on page
203 of this same file, and this is now Mr. Bishop's
report. Well, it is actually his notes, I think, of a
meeting on 29th September, 1990 at which you were present
and Mr. Morris and Ms. Steel. And on page 203, the end of
the second paragraph, it says this:

"Paul Gravett stated that Hackney Solidarity Group had had
printed 10,000 anti-McDonald's leaflets using last year's
artwork from London Greenpeace."

Did that happen? Did they print 10,000 anti-McDonald's
leaflets using the artwork from last year from London
Greenpeace?
A. Well, there were 10,000 leaflets printed for them,
yes.

Q. Yes?
A. Yes. These were the 19 - these would have been the
1989 A5 leaflets.

Q. Yes?
A. Yes.

Q. And they used your format and your words?
A. Well, other groups used the A5 leaflets.

Q. I am only interested in these 10,000, but that is right,
what is stated there; is that right?
A. Yes.

Q. Thank you. Then it goes on:

"As a result, the date of the fayre appears as the
29th --"

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Mr. Rampton, so it is clear, I think you
said the end of the second paragraph, did you?

MR. RAMPTON: Well, I meant the end of the first complete
paragraph.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, the end of the first paragraph which we
have?
