Day 273 - 03 Jul 96 - Page 06
just said without authority is now confirmed.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Well, it is just me wasting time
really.

MR. RAMPTON: Tab 68, my Lord.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, tab 68.

MR. RAMPTON: Now, Mr. Gravett, I just ask you to glance through
this. I am not going to read it out. I expect you are
familiar with it?
A. Yes.

Q. Amongst other occasions, perhaps, it was handed out at the
demonstration, or protest or whatever you call it, on 16th
October 1993, was it not?
A. Yes, I remember writing it specifically for that
protest, yes.

Q. It was after the writs had been served?
A. Yes.

Q. And it is the Mclibel 5 Support Campaign. It is probably
the first document, is it, that that campaign produced?
A. I cannot remember.

Q. No, it does not matter. You wrote it. Presumably,
however, its wording was agreed by all five defendants?
A. No, I have to say that it was not.

Q. It was not?
A. No.

Q. Do you think they never saw it?
A. It was done in a rush for the October 16th HQ and I
did not show to it them beforehand.

Q. Did any of them say: "Oh, what is this, this is complete
rubbish, you should not have done this and you should not
have handed it out"?
A. No, I do not remember any of them saying that but they
were not shown it before the demo.

Q. They saw it at some stage, presumably, did they?
A. It was available on the demo and I do not remember
whether the others looked at it or not. You know, it was
there.

Q. Ms. Steel was at that demo, was she not?
A. Yes.

Q. And I expect she handed out copies of this herself. Can
you remember?
A. I cannot, no.

Q. Very well. Can you go onwards then in this pink file to
tab 60A, please. Backwards. Turn please to page 6.

MS. STEEL: 60A?
