Day 259 - 10 Jun 96 - Page 14
Q. But it does not -----
A. And this time you hoped it would be carried out during
the whole of the weekend from the 14th to the 16th.

Q. We are calling on groups to picket their local branch of
McDonald's?
A. Yes.

Q. There is nothing there about a picket of Head Office?
A. No, but there was one.

Q. There was not a picket of the Head Office on October 1988,
was there?
A. Yes.

Q. Your memory of the events of 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, your
previous reference to '85 and '86, are all basically
confused, are they not?
A. No.

Q. You cannot remember what happened on what date?
A. Yes.

Q. And you are assuming that there was a picket on each of
those dates, and you are assuming that the fact sheet was
handed out on each of those dates?
A. No.

Q. You are still standing by saying that there were pickets on
16th October 1987, and some time within a few days of
16th October 1988, and that those pickets were organised by
London Greenpeace and were basically run of the mill, much

A. Yes.

Q. Is not the reality that it is actually quite understandable
that at this stage of events, or even by 1993, when

make a comment as to the reliability of Mr. Nicholson's
evidence, and I will make what I will of it. You
challenged him about it.

MS. STEEL: Right. Is it possible for copies of -- I do not
know whether they are in the bundles -- Mr. Nicholson's
fifth affidavit -- sorry. Actually, before we go to that,
Mr. Morris just wants to deal with something.

MR. MORRIS: (To the witness) That last document, the one with
Terry Carroll's letter about the Day of Action -- if you
could just put that in front of you -- 6th November 1987,
you said, in the middle of that main paragraph, after "the
worst hurricane in 200 years":

"We had demonstrations about 25 stores during the day.
There was very little graffiti on the day, but Hastings
store had its windows attacked with hydrofluoric acid on
