       concerned.

MR. RAMPTON: I am using the wrong document. Start again,
       sorry, Mr. Fairgrieve.

MR. MORRIS: Could we have a copy of the other document then,
       please?

MR. RAMPTON: The other document was an early draft which you
used to make some notes on.

MR. MORRIS: If it is an early draft we ought to have a copy of
it. There may be a challenge to the figures.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is there a clean copy of the earlier draft?

MR. RAMPTON: I do not think there is, I am afraid, no. It is
entirely my fault, I did not have this one and I had the
earlier draft, which is my working draft. I am afraid I do
       not have it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Perhaps we could see if there is a clean copy
of the earlier draft, but for the meantime let us proceed
on the one we all have.

MR. RAMPTON: We will do that. If necessary I can do some
blanking out of my notes. Sorry, Mr. Fairgrieve, my fault
entirely. The document you have, has it got 'Number of
People Eating at McDonald's by Frequency Break 1993/1994'?
       A. Yes, it does.

  Q. Right. Has it got 3 columns of figures?
       A. Yes, it does.

  Q. Let me start at the right hand column where it says
'Percentage of McDonald's Usage'. You told us in relation
to a different document a moment ago that those are the
percentages of your estimated customer base; is that right?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. So, according to these calculations, 0.18 per cent, if
I can read it correctly, use McDonald's nearly every day?
       A. That is correct, yes.

  Q. The figure in the middle, what does the figure of 40,000
represent, how does it relate to the figure of 0.18 per
       cent?
       A. The figure in the second column is derived by
multiplying the number of people who responded as eating at
McDonald's at this particular frequency break by a factor
which rounded the number up to a relevant percentage of the
       population.

  Q. Right. Your left hand column is?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you just pause? It may sound simple, but
       it is not to me.

MR. RAMPTON: I will take it slowly, my Lord.
