other agents. I left that entirely up to the directors of
       the company.

MS. STEEL: You did not make any inquiries at all or have any
concern about how the influx of such a number of people
into a group might influence the activities undertaken by
       that group?
       A. No.

  Q. You were getting reports back about who was attending
London Greenpeace meetings; do you remember roughly how
many people were at most of the meetings?
       A. No, at each individual meeting, no, absolutely not. It
       varied. I am going back.

  Q. You got reports of how many people attended?
       A. Yes, that would be in the agency reports, and I think
       the numbers varied greatly.

  Q. Generally speaking, unless it was ----
       A. Small, a small number.

  Q. -- a public meeting they would be small?
       A. Yes, nine maybe. They were pretty small.

  Q. Even when you saw that, it did not concern you that you had
so many people infiltrating the group, that it might ----
       A. No, I did not believe for a moment that Kings put four
in on one night and Bishops put two or three in on one
       night. They put one in.

  Q. But you did not actually know because you are present,
keeping a check on who was going on what night?
       A. No.

  Q. It is clear, actually, from some of the reports that there
were more than one from each company on some of the nights?
       A. No, no, it was not.

  Q. We have got at least one set of notes which refers to at
       least ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: He is not challenging that there were, as
I understand it. What he is saying is it was not clear
from the reports he obtained that there were not.

MS. STEEL: You saw the notes which have appeared in the trial
bundle dealt behind the witnesses' statements.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is that a question?

MS. STEEL: It is a question, yes?
       A. I have not read their statements, I am sorry.

  Q. Not the statements, the notes?
       A. I have not read their statements. I do not know what
       notes are behind them.

  Q. If you look in publication 2 yellow 2?
       A. Yes, I have got it.
