Day 249 - 14 May 96 - Page 16

few feet left of the green man in photograph 17?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Then finally ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: They look to you to be the same two men do
       they?
       A. I have not really looked at this from that point of
       view, but they look like.

  Q. On the face of it, the one with the hands in his front
       pockets, photograph 10?
       A. Now seems to be in... Yes, seems to be holding a
       banner in photograph 10.

  Q. Well...

MR. RAMPTON: I do believe they are the same people if one looks
closely at their faces as well as their clothes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There we are.

MR. RAMPTON: Anyway, not that they matter for these purposes.
Sorry, Mr. Nicholson. Finally, paragraph 22 on page 9?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You had seen, as you tell us in paragraph 21, Mr. Gravett
talking to somebody with some leaflets tucked under -- some
of the leaflets complained of -- his arm?
       A. Yes, held against his body.

MR. MORRIS: Sorry. Which ones are we looking at now?
       A. No.

MR. RAMPTON: I am sorry, that is my fault, I meant to go to
paragraph 24; I think I have done 24, 22. Then you say in
       24 ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can we deal with 23, if you do not mind,
Mr. Rampton, just so I know, the hold-all which was against
the wall, just where that was by reason of the photographs.

MR. RAMPTON: I am grateful to your Lordship.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The answer may be obvious but I have not
       heard.

MR. RAMPTON: Your Lordship is quite right. You identified
where Helen Steel and the other female protester were
       standing?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Then at 23 you tell us this: "Helen Steel and the other
girl were standing close to a hold-all which was against
the wall. Next to the hold-all was a pile of leaflets
-- of the leaflets complained of -- and there were some
more sitting on top of the hold-all. As they were talking
Helen Steel took a couple of steps toward the hold-all,
bent down and picked up some of the leaflets. She handed
some to the other girl who then moved off with them." If
