MR. JUSTICE BELL: It does not matter. We are concerned with a
particular instance and I have ruled on that. Do not be
distracted by procedural arguments; it is what is left in
her statement which I want to hear and it is only that
which you can help me in any event, so I would invite you
to call Miss Link and take her through the parts of her two
       statements which are relevant.

MR. MORRIS: We would like to call our expert witness.

                        ANNE LINK, affirmed
                      Examined by the Defendants

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you want to sit down, Miss Link, at all,
pull that chair forward to the front of the witness box.
       A. OK.

MR. MORRIS: Can you give the court your full name and your
address at the Womens Environmental Network?
       A. It is Anne Link, Women's Environmental Network,
Aberdeen Studios, 22 Highbury Grove, London N5 2EA.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Keep your voice up, please.
       A. Sorry, I assumed this was on -- is this on?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, it does not help; it merely puts it on the
tape. It does not magnify your voice at all.

MR. MORRIS: You are currently in what position in the Women's
       Environmental Network?
       A. I am a Science Coordinator.

  Q. It would help if you can get your statements out.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you do it, Mr. Riley, please? It is pale
blue 1B. There is a divider C there, Miss Link. Then
there is C5. Do you have that?
       A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: This is a statement, is it, that you wrote on 9th
       February 1995?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Do speak up so we can hear you.
       A. Yes.

  Q. Right. I will read it through. If there is anything which
is incorrect or needs clarification or updating, please
stop me at the end of a sentence and say so.

       Reading from the statement:

"I have worked at Women's Environmental Network (WEN) for
six years. I was involved" and presumably that is now
        ------
       A. Seven now, yes.

  Q. "I was involved in WEN's 1989 Campaign for Unbleached
Paper. I am co-author of UK Papermills: Environmental
