MR. MORRIS: Can I say before we call the witness that we seem
to have found the report from which Mr. Cesca had been
given his advice, and we disclosed some of the relevant
pages to the Plaintiffs.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What is that?

MR. MORRIS: It is the advice that Mr. Cesca had in his
briefcase about Costa Rica seems to be a direct quote from
the report which we have disclosed with the relevant pages
to the Plaintiffs. Can I hand it in, just in case it comes
up. (Handed) It does include a map that we intend to put
to the witness which we informed the Plaintiffs about. It
is a report which seems to be compiled by a Tropical
Science Centre which the famous Joseph Tosi is based at --
David Joseph Tosi junior, that is.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Very well. You want to call
Dr. Carriere, do you?

MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: I think it is the original of the article he has
disclosed.

DR. JEAN CARRIERE, affirmed:
Examined by the Defendants:

MR. MORRIS: Can you give the court your full name and your
academic address?
A. My full name is Joseph Armand Sylvio Jean Carriere.

Q. Sorry I asked that question!

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You are content with "Jean Carriere"; is that
French Canadian?
A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: You are actually a doctor, are you, Doctor
Carriere?
A. Yes. I have a Phd in Political Science from the London
School of Economics.

Q. Your academic base is?
A. The University of Amsterdam.

Q. Right. If we can get your statement out?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is the bundle on the very top -- if you do
not mind getting it down, Dr. Carriere -- with "1C". It is
just beneath your right-hand, with a pale blue flash on it
and a "IC" on it. You will find a divider G fairly near
the front, divider 2 within that?
A. Yes, thank you.

MR. MORRIS: Do you have your statement in front of you?
A. I do.
